Night Whispers offers a sensitive exploration of the Saint-Sauveur neighborhood in Québec through the experience of a nocturnal walk. At dusk, the artist attends to the fleeting traces left by movement: shifting lightscapes, urban textures, diffuse sounds, and subtle encounters with the living world.
The installation seeks to translate these ephemeral fragments into an immersive form, moving from a diffuse video on a cathode-ray television to a physical occupation of space. This transition invites the audience into a more embodied experience where the viewer is no longer merely an observer, but a body in motion within the work.
The initial journey, intimate and subjective, thus becomes a shared form: a sensory cartography activated by the visitor’s presence as they leaf through the artist’s book that accompanies the video.
Through this approach, Night Whispers questions how we inhabit places we believe to be familiar, and explores our capacity to perceive the invisible, sensitive, and often overlooked dimensions of the everyday environment.
