Interfaces of Place I is a video experiment composed from a selection of images drawn from Google Earth. It unfolds as a journey along the Bas-du-Fleuve, where the territory is revealed through the sensibility of a Geographic Information System (GIS). The work highlights a duality: on one side, the familiarity of virtual images that saturate our daily lives; on the other, the intimacy of closer views that invite us to slow down, to look differently, to choose what we truly wish to see rather than accept a vision imposed upon us.
Within this system of visualization, the artist positions herself as a mediator, transforming information into a space of poetry. She navigates between intimate and global scales, bringing forth a sensitive cartography in which the landscape becomes a site of contemplation and reinvention.
