"Since 2020, Théâtre Rude Ingénierie has been reactivating a large neglected park in the Saint-Roch neighborhood, in Québec city, as an artistic and civic laboratory: gardening, workshops, neighborhood parties and discovery trails."
Artist-gardener residency (13 Tuesdays, June 9 to September 1, 2026, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
"Every Tuesday morning, the artists Charles Hurtubise and Solenn O'Meara take over Place Dis Oui with a twofold gesture: they garden, and they set up a living room there. Tables, chairs, books, board games and small creative materials fill the green space, temporarily transforming this shared place into an inhabited space. Passers-by are invited to stop by, to garden alongside the artists, to read, play or create. This artistic project explores the sense of familiarity and belonging that grows from regularly frequenting a place, and, in the background, questions the concept of private property: what does it mean to feel at home in a public space?"
Creative workshops with the living world
'' Four workshops are offered to children from partner day camps (YMCA, Maisons des enfants de Saint-Roch, 24h Chronos). Led by Charles Hurtubise and Solenn O'Meara, these workshops invite children to observe, handle and create, drawing inspiration from the biodiversity of the site. ''
